Frequently Asked Questions

Before we begin, we'll take a few minutes to talk about how you're feeling, any areas of tension or concern, your health history, and what you'd like from your session. From there, we'll shape the massage around what feels right for you.
My goal is for you to feel comfortable, heard, and completely at ease before you ever get on the table.

No. You can undress only to your comfort level.
Professional draping is used throughout every session, and only the area being worked on is uncovered. If you'd prefer to leave some or all of your clothing on, we can adapt the session accordingly. Roots’ client forms also explicitly give clients control over draping and areas treated.
-
That's completely okay.
Tell me a little about what you're experiencing, and I'll help you determine which service may be the best fit. Every session includes some level of customization, so you don't need to have everything figured out before you arrive.

Massage does not have to be painful to be effective. Some areas of tension may feel tender as they’re worked, but your comfort always comes first.
I encourage you to let me know if you’d like more or less pressure, a different position, or anything else adjusted during your session.

For an in-office session, you’ll come to my treatment space where everything is prepared and ready for you.
For an in-home session, I bring the massage experience to you—including the table, linens, bolsters, lotions or oils, music, and other comfort items—so you can relax without having to leave home. A space of approximately 10' × 12' is ideal so I can comfortably work around the table.

I completely understand that life happens. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give as much notice as possible.

One courtesy waiver may be available once per rolling 12 months at my discretion. Genuine illness, emergencies, unsafe driving conditions, and other exceptional circumstances may also be considered.

Yes. Certain illnesses, injuries, symptoms, medications, pregnancies, recent procedures, or medical conditions can affect whether massage is appropriate or how your session should be modified.
Every new client completes a health intake form so I can help keep your session safe and appropriate. In some situations, I may recommend postponing massage or obtaining clearance from your healthcare provider before we proceed.
